Reversible Bucket Hats | DIY

Reversible-Linen-Bucket-Hat-DIY-from-The-Fabric-Store-–-Buy-Fabric-OnlineWe have been busy sewing up last minute Christmas gifts here at The Fabric Store so we thought we would share another one with you! These reversible bucket hats were made up in less than 2 hours (each) and best of all, the pattern was free!

Liberty Amalfi Swim fabric is super quick drying and lightweight making it perfect for board shorts, swim bags and hats.

Other great fabrics for this project include cotton, denim or Liberty Corduroy styles.  For a cool weather alternative, try a woven wool blend fabric like Liberty Lantana to keep your head warm while keeping the sun off your face.

Reversible-Mens-Bucket-Hat-DIY-from-The-Fabric-Store-–-Buy-Fabric-OnlinePattern | The pattern we used to make these hats was an enlarged adult version of the Free Reversible Bucket Hat Pattern by Oliver + S which is a children’s pattern. The enlarged version can be found here and fits both Annelise and Niwa’s heads well. The pattern is great for beginner to intermediate sewists and involves skills like topstitching, sewing curved seams and edge stitching. Fabric required for a children’s hat is 31cm. We recommend between 40cm and 50cm for adults, depending if you are matching a pattern or not.

Mens-Reversible-Bucket-Hat-DIY-from-The-Fabric-Store-–-Buy-Fabric-OnlineWe think these hats are super cool and would make great stocking stuffers this Christmas. They are light and floppy which would also make them great for travelling and other outdoor adventures.
