Driftless Cardigan | Pattern Review

Spotted-Driftless-Cardigan-Pattern-Review-from-The-Fabric-Store---Buy-Fabric-OnlineThis week we bring you another pattern feature, the Driftless Cardigan by Grainline Studios made up in one of our new jacquard knits. We think this cardigan would be great for layering in winter or throwing on in spring when the temperature drops in the evenings. It has dropped shoulders, a slim sleeve and a couple of gorgeous details. Keep reading below to find out more!

Fabric | The fabric we used for this pattern was our Ochre Painted Spot Knit, a midweight cotton blend jacquard jersey. We have had this pattern on our radar for a while and when we spotted this fabric we knew it would make a great statement cardi as the weather is transitioning.  We love how the slightly heavier weight knit has given it more structure, you would get the same result in any of our merino interlock styles. However, if you want a softer more drapey look any of our Milled Merino Jerseys would be suitable and with so many colours to choose from you’ll be sure to find a fav to compliment your wardrobe.

Driftless-Cardi-Pattern-Review-from-The-Fabric-Store---Buy-Fabric-OnlinePattern| The Grainline Driftless Cardigan can be found online here. We made up view B because we loved the split seam hem details. We found it relatively easy to sew up this midweight jersey knit, however, it is worth mentioning that it only has a 6mm seam allowance so if you are a beginner sewist we would suggest adding a couple millimetres to the seam allowance to make it a little less fiddly.
