DIY | Geo Lasercut Leather Tote Bag

After seeing Abbie’s super cute tote bag featuring our intricate Ivory Geo Lasercut Leather, we knew we had to make one of our own! These fab leather hides are currently discounted in stores from $100 per hide to just $25 per hide! Tote bags are a stylish alternative to single-use plastic bags and come in handy for all sorts of things like a trip to the supermarket, carrying newly purchased fabric or just for an everyday handbag. We’ve put together a handy DIY so you can try this out with a Geo Lasercut Hide at home!

Fabric |  Geo Lasercut Leather Hide in Ivory (available in-store only) plus Heavyweight Linen – Cream

To make this tote bag you will need one Geo Lasercut Leather Hide (approximately 8 sqft), plus 0.6m of a woven fabric like linendenim or cotton for the lining and straps. You could even line your bag in one of our new striped linens for a tote-elly cute pop of colour!

Pattern | We have put together printable guidelines so you can give this project a go at home. Click here for the link: Download Geo Lasercut Leather Tote Bag Guidelines

Hot Tip! | We decided to trim the top of our tote bag following the lasercut pattern in the leather, giving it a beautiful scalloped edge. This was simple to do with a pair of snips as the hides are lightweight and it’s best done before stitching together your two leather pieces.

At just $25 per hide, these Geo Lasercut Leather Hides are such a bargain!* This tote bag is an excellent DIY project for sewists of all levels so if you give it a try don’t forget to share it with us on Instagram @wearethefabricstore using #thefabricstore.

*Please note, these hides are an in-store special only and the discounted price applies to the Ivory colour only.
