Ailakki Jumpsuit | Pattern Review

Today we bring you another beauty from Finnish pattern designers ‘Named Patterns’ – The Ailakki Jumpsuit! We instantly fell in love with the cute cross-over/cut-out top detailing and knew we had to take this baby for a test drive.
Supplies | You can purchase the Ailakki Jumpsuit from Named Patterns website. Other than that, you will just need standard sewing supplies and some good quality interfacing. Fabric | Liberty of London Saville Poplin – Axion / Blue.

Sewing Tips |
1 – Although the sewing instructions are generally nice and clear, we did notice a necessary step that has been left out. The shape of the back underarm is a sharp corner, and therefore you need to notch into your corner seam before turning out. This will ensure a neat sharp finished corner.

2 – We also suggest notching your seam every inch or two along the rounded edges of the bodice before turning out to ensure smooth un-warped lines.

We absolutely ADORE our Ailakki Jumpsuit. The design is chic and contemporary (a rarity in the pattern world) and it was surprisingly easy to sew considering its complicated lines. The sizing is quite small so we would err on the side of caution when picking your size.

Good luck!
